A Few of Our Favorite Dishes to Bring on the Boat

Boat food is a whole lot different than your average snacks and lunch. There’s so much to consider before you prep a boat trip. Cooler size, time on the boat and the number of people on board all impact the food you pack. Are you gearing up for some great outings on the water this October? The Palm Valley Fish Camp crew is here to help. From pre-ordered grub to some simple fresh fruit, here are our favorite ways to serve your boat guests

Spicy Pimiento Cheese Spread

You just can’t go wrong with dips and chips. This is a simple appetizer to pick up before you launch the boat. We serve our pimiento cheese with toasted baguette slices. One order is enough to feed about three to four people, so plan accordingly.

It’s smart to serve multiple small appetizers to ensure everyone gets enough. This cheese spread pairs perfectly with some fresh fruit and tons of great beer and wine. Pack a cooler that can accommodate!

Large-Batch Salad

This isn’t a conventional boat food, we’ll give you that. But it is nice to have something ultra-healthy to balance out the booze and carbs. Order a few servings of one of Palm Valley’s favorite salads. Our two perfect choices for a day on the water include:

Greek Salad with Olives and Feta

Grilled Octopus and White Bean Salad

Put the salad in a large airtight bowl and place it toward the top of the cooler. You want to keep it cool but not icy. Pair one of these perfectly adorned salads with some cold sub sandwiches from Publix or a local sub shop.

Go Over-the-Top with a Few Fresh Entrees

Some of our dishes can easily be taken along on your next outing. It’s important to be strategic, though, about what you choose. The best food to choose for your boat day won’t get soggy, doesn’t need to be re-heated and is simple to share.

Seared Yellow Fin Tuna with Toasted Sesame Salad

Grilled Salmon B.L.T. with Carol’s Pickled Zucchini, Fish Camp Tartar Sauce
