Spots in Jacksonville to Explore this Season

Jan 22, 2021 | Food & Lifestyle, Living

The #904 is a highly sought after destination for people from all walks of life. From lazy days at the beach to energizing afternoons on the boat, Jacksonville is the #1 spot to support an outdoor lifestyle. There are so many fun places to visit in our city, even when the weather is a bit cooler. Here are a few of the Palm Valley Fish Camp crew’s favorite ways to let loose around Jax:

Bundle Up and Visit the Jacksonville Beach Pier

Choose a mild afternoon to explore the restaurants along the Jacksonville Beach strip and stroll along the newly renovated pier. Bring a fishing pole or a book and simply relax in the winter sunshine.

There’s a good chance you’ll spot some impressive sea creatures from the peak of the pier. This is a great spot to enjoy pro surfers, large sea life and peaceful people watching. While many people hit the pier in the summer, we prefer it in the slow season where there’s space to relax.

Unbeatable Restaurants Lining the Intracoastal

Roscoe Boulevard in St. Johns County features amazing restaurants, million dollar real estate and preserved waterways. Throw on a plush sweatshirt and cruise down the Intracoastal Waterway for a classic Florida meal and drinks. Two of our favorite restaurants, Palm Valley Fish Camp and Valley Smoke, are favorite destinations amongst locals and visitors alike.

Both of our restaurants feature lunch, dinner and a full bar you just can’t beat. While the summer crowd flocks in with bathing suits and sun burns, our winter crowds are a bit more tame. Join us via boat or car — either way, you’ll be thrilled with your dining decision.

Picturesque Sandbars of Ft. George Inlet

Ft. George Inlet is a hotspot for JAX boaters to fish, relax and socialize with other boaters. Cruise toward the point where the Ft. George River opens up to the ocean, and expect to spend the rest of your day explorinng the area.

The inlet’s unique waters offer long, shallow sandbars and pristine waters. This hidden gem has been compared to the beautiful Bahamian waters more times than we can count, and for good reason.
